School social-emotional faculty would greatly benefit from learning about motivational interviewing. This evidence-based technique equips staff with the skills to recognize a student's readiness to change and effectively address ambivalence and resistance. By using motivational interviewing, faculty can engage not only students of all ages but also their teachers and parents in a supportive and empathetic manner. This collaborative approach helps navigate uncertainties and build intrinsic motivation for positive change, addressing academic, behavioral, and mental health challenges, and fostering a more supportive and responsive school environment. This workshop is designed for beginners and those new to motivational interviewing.
